Trump rants on Truth Social after Jan. 6 hearing

Ex-President Donald Trump raged about it on his social media page Truth Social hearing on Thursday by the House Special Committee investigating last year’s Capitol riot, at one point saying that “the US is going to hell.”

While the committee highlighted the 45th President Inactivity for more than three hours As his supporters besieged Congress on January 6, 2021, Trump accused the panel of spreading “lies.”

“The Unselects are embarrassed by their ‘appearance’ tonight!” the former President wrote shortly after the primetime hearing was adjourned.

During his tenure, Trump repeated his frequent claim that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) turned down his offer to send 10,000 National Guard troops to Washington before the riots and asked why the “unselected committee” — his nickname the Panel — had failed to address the issue.

Aside from Trump’s word, there is no evidence that such an offer or request for troops was made by the White House.

“The Unselect Committee refuses to do this because it is ending your fake case,” Trump wrote. “Will there be any mention or investigation by the unchosen of how the election was rigged and stolen? There is sooo much evidence but the unselects don’t want to be seen in any way, shape or form – and for good reason – it would ruin their latest scam!”

“It’s Nancy Pelosi’s fault, she turned the troops back! Maybe she was free – maybe looking for her husband!” he said in another post.

At one point, Trump attempted to disparage former White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Matthews, one of Thursday night’s two personal witnesses.

“But wasn’t that the same Sarah Matthews I don’t know who said such nice things about me on January 20th – or long after January 6th?” he continued, referring to a tweet by Matthews Trump’s last day in office, in which she said, “Thank you, President Trump and Vice President Pence, for your service to the American people. It has been the greatest honor and privilege of my life to serve this great nation.”

However, during the hearing, Matthews said she decided to resign on Jan. 6 after Trump tweeted so then-Vice President Mike Pence “didn’t have the guts” to stop confirmation of Joe Biden’s election victory — which the former White House spokesman said “put gas on the fire and did it.” [the riot] much worse.”

Trump also tried to downplay video evidence produced by the committee showing Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) colluding with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and the Pentagon to build the building House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said Trump admitted he was responsible for what happened during the riots.

“Is this the same Mitch McConnell who suffered great losses in Kentucky and came to the White House to ASK for my support and help? Without me he would have lost in a landslide,” Trump wrote. “A disloyal scumbag!”

He continued: “1. But crooked Hillary Clinton, Stacey Abrams and many others have voted in their elections – and have done so for far longer than I have. 2. How do they know I watched TV? 3. I never said that to Kevin McCarthy, who came to Mar-a-Lago very early on to say ‘Hello’ (the unselects don’t say that),” he wrote in another attack. “So many lies and misrepresentations by the corrupt and highly partisan Unselect Committee!”

Trump then circled around committee vice chair Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), whom he called “a hypocritical loser.”

“The Great State of Wyoming is wise to her,” he said. “Why don’t you show the tapes or interview those who have evidence challenging the election?”

During this summer’s series of hearings, Trump has repeatedly blown up the proceedings and witnesses, most notably former White House staffer Cassidy Hutchinson.

During her testimony, Hutchinson claimed the former president threw food at a wall in the White House after then-Attorney General Bill Barr said in December 2020 that the Justice Department had found no evidence of massive voter fraud. She also claimed Trump attempted to overpower his intelligence unit and drive himself to the Capitol on Jan. 6 to join his supporters.

“Why didn’t the Unselects ask about it? Intelligence Confirmation the so-called stranglehold? Because they know the answer and they don’t like it,” he said. “A kangaroo dish!”

The hearing on Thursday was also presented Outtakes of a Trump speech indicated the day after the uprising that he refused to say the 2020 presidential election was over.

“This election is now over,” Trump says in the video. “Congress certified the results.”

He then broke off to tell his aides, “I don’t want to say the election is over. I just want to say that Congress confirmed the results without saying the election is over, okay?”

In response to the hearing, Trump continued to insist that the 2020 presidential election had been rigged against him, saying, “I had an election that was rigged and stolen by me and our country. America is going to hell. Am I supposed to be happy?”
